  1. Amazingly nothing in my town. THe cracked Mc'D's arch didnt even get blown out. A few free standing real estate signs knocked over. Never lost power just a lot of water. Thank fully she blew her load on Carolina and nothing on the edge of NJ. Had the eye go rite over my place around 7ish. Storm surge was not as bad as everyone thought it would be, boats up on lifts were sitting in water. Sand bagged the front of my house and put everything on the second floor and dug a trench around to the side. My friend trimmed his trees hoping it would all blow away and then had to pick it all up in the AM. Sent the family inland and they got it worse than I did, go figure.
  2. It doesnt say where the money went?
  3. A Fault line - report August 24, 2011 7:23 AM Message bodyThe Weather Channel says the east coast earthquake was caused by an unknown fault line running under D.C. and through Virginia. It is now being called Obama's Fault, though Obama will say it's really Bush's Fault. Other theories are that was the founding fathers rolling over in their graves or that what we all believed to be an earthquake was actually the effects of a 14.6 trillion dollar check bouncing in Washingto
  4. Anybody else here in the NY/NJ/Pa area feel the tremmor around 1:40 today
  5. They must be sending it to all the peeps that have done service work for them in the past. The adress is just a PO box and the location is a hop skip and a jump from PA located in an area where there are a few big players that do national accounts.
  6. So basically it was a power supply fire. From the article info. The guy got all his stuff out and 16K in damage the building probably be a total loss, Sounds like Jewish lightning and someone wanted a new garage. Google street veiw the adress and it looks like a cute garage. Article made it sound like a giant warehouse.
  7. There have been magazines that have tried to take off which had a lot of promise but were swallowed up by the larger ones or off shoots of existing rags and consolidated after a short run. I agree with you but it is a paperless era, Hell I wont even get a report card or progress report from my kids school anymore, they are 100% paperless. I asked the PTO president of our school what if someone didnt have a printer at home and wanted a paper copy , I was told the Public library has one. Anywho, I think the syndicate is what you are describing, changing daily, news letters are sent out, all aspects of the trade are present. Now, if some of the lurkers would post some pics of stuff they do or questions they have the site would be evolving even more, There are detailed "unbiased" tests going on which the rags wont even touch and the information here is not made up, it is from actual sign people.
  8. What a nice post to open up to after 2 weeks of fishing and honey-do lists. I remember at the San Diego show when we first met, you liked the A and said you wanted to do something like that and after emails and calls the Great White Hope was born. Hats off to Erik and Kgirl (couple extra smooches for the queen) for all you have done and for putting up with me at the shows. There are people who bash us for entering the LED world but we spent many years working on the best moduals we could along with focusing on the NEON industry fighting City hall where we can. We are not in a race to the bottom with pricing because then you have to substitute or even cut things out. Once the 1/2 watts are out all will be very pleased with the product and the 1 watts are pretty damn bright and efficient. If anyone has questions give us a call or shoot us a mail. Yes I was one of the original members and try to spread the word of the sight where ever I go. If you want the facts or honest opinions, excellent networking capabilities the syndicate is the place to go. As I've said in the past and one day ISA will see the light and agree. "Erik for President"
  9. Happy Bday Randy, Hope you had a few cold ones. You only get older if you think that way. I refuse to get any older than 27.
  10. Hot as hell here as well. I catch crayfish in the stream here by work and bring them home for my ponds and my 1.5hr ride home about cooked them. The Ocean is a haze and cant see farther than a 1/4 mile. Dont worry, winter will be here before you know it and we'll all be bitchin about that. Hey Erik, isnt it 70 there in the winter as well :)

  12. Wasnt Sloan bought by a investment group a few years back. If that was the case, Maybe they were fullfilling a contract agreement and now it's over.
  13. Ultrasonic welding is an industrial technique whereby high-frequency ultrasonic acoustic vibrations are locally applied to workpieces being held together under pressure to create a solid-state weld. It is commonly used for plastics, and especially for joining dissimilar materials. In ultrasonic welding, there are no connective bolts, nails, soldering materials, or adhesives necessary to bind the materials together. Took this from Wilki. If the customer is that anal about the seem this may be your only option.
  14. The way I used to do it is drill some small holes along the seam and use alluminum tie wire to secure them together. This way when you have to service the lamps you can cut the wire and slide the faces enough to re-lamp. Whe it is done properly you dont see the seam or the wire.
  15. If they really want the sign down tell them to pre pay and you will dispose of it. I agree with alltex. They are already bankrupt and closed. Go straight to the realty company that owns the property and get the removal job from them. The company already gave you the adress' for the locations. It's in the landlords best intrest to get rid of the old signs and you may get the fab and install of the new tennents out of it. Hell, contact the landlord and tell them you will remove and dispose of it for free when you put up the new tennents sign. That angle may be more pleasing for the landlord and a start of a new relationship as well.
  16. That is excellent news for a Monday. Hats off to Paul for taking the step and being the first.
  17. Would be interesting to see a pic of the signs. LukOil stadium in Indianapolis used over 1300 lbs of 18mm EGL Accuwall Ruby and over 600 lbs of EGL CL35 for their signage a few years ago and looks great
  18. I believe Neongeek just took a gig there, I will reach out to him to see.
  19. Have you contacted the GC or the architects. I remember seeing some in fabrication a few years ago but cant remember where.
