  1. Welcome. Since we manufacture Lighting sequencers and chasers in the US we might have a potential of cooperation with FMS. Our site is digitallighting.com . you could email or call me to explore the possibilities.

  3. Hi Richard,

Just to let you know that we are US manufacturers of quality controls for signs. LED control and dimming is our specialty. I will personally assist you in selecting the right parts for your projects.

  6. Osama Bin Laden has for ever changed the face of terror. His death is not enough punishment to the misery and pain that he had spread on our land and across the globe. While he is gone now the ideology that inspired his actions is till alive and kicking. Millions in the Muslim world still believe that Osama was going by the Book and doing the right thing! Although, a lot of reform is being done in the Muslim countries it remains a formidable task to extract all the teachings and distorted interpretations that formed the sick ideological background for this modern days terrorism. It is a job that only good Muslims could and should do. Otherwise stability and peace in this world will become impossible to attain and the scale and magnitude of terrorist attacks will continue to increase.
  7. The Property Manager is only reading the Rules and applying them in order to preserve uniformity in the shopping center's signs. The important thing is the look and since those rules were put obviously before LED lights were known then it might take a demonstration to prove that LED lit channel letters could look the same as Neon lit ones.
  8. Hi Philippe, What you show there is a Electromechanical relay output pack that is not adequate for this type of applications let alone switching Neon transformers primaries. We do not make a controller that works with the beat but you could pickup an off the shelf controller that has a DMX 512 output and use our switch packs with it and you have a solution. Pls call me to discuss further. 305-969-8442
  9. regretfully, although we have dimmers and switching devices designed with built in DC components prevention to protect Neon transformers, we have nothing to create Crackles or Jelly beans inside Neon tubes.
  10. Hi Erik, Do you want to simulate these effects with LEDs or are you asking about Neon tubes? For neon, I believe crackle tube effects are created by building the neon tube with beads of glass or sand inside! We have never made a controller for the Jelly bean effect for neon. For LEDs we can provide the controllers that simulate the Jelly Bean effect if the LEDs are wired accordingly.
  11. I noticed that a lot of sign manufacturers do not know where to get quality lighting controllers, especially those designed to switch and Dim the Output side of the LED power supplies. There are a lot of imports and they might work fine for small signs. When it comes to larger LED dispalys which need color changing RGB controls or sequencing multiple LED lines to create animation most sign manufacturers do not Know where to find a reliable solution. Our products are all US made and are supported by our extensive knowledge of the Lighting control industry since 1978. If you come across a project requiring a simple 3 or 4 circuits chaser or a speller or synchronizing larger displays, leave this part totally to Digital lighting systems, inc, give us a call.
  12. We can help you select the right replacement for old electromechanical flashers sequencers. Our solid state controllers have more versatility and features are less expensive and have no wearable parts. They are designed to protect Neon transformers from DC components damage. http://www.digitallighting.com/animationfolder/genchase.htm call 305-969-8442

  14. I missed this post before but I would like to applaud your efforts and add that it is in our hands to cut our dependance on oil. I see for example a lot of people leaving their cars to idle for a long time while chatting or using the crowded drive thru windows in fast food restaurants, banks,... Just changing these habits, weather allowing, will help reduce gasoline consumption by more than 5%. Also walking will certainly improve everyone's health and reduce the healthcare costs.... Cheers
  15. I agree and have a suggestion that this Earth Day all the nuts should go protest in Iceland around the Volcano… While we in the US and the in the West bind our hands and cripple our industries with extremist environmental rules, the others, including mother Nature, prove that we are only hurting our economies without saving anything. Although, it is imperative that we protect the environment, it is also very important that we shed this culpability burden imposed on us less by science than by notorious people who need a "cause" to be pertinent and speak of issues they know nothing about. For some reason Al Gore comes to mind!
  16. It should be illegal for any inspector to impose UL listing or any other certifications. What was intended to improve the safety of products has become a hinderance and a giant bureaucratic monster. The safety of any product depends on its usage. For example a UL listed toaster or a light socket could still kill and burn someone. The decision to test and list a product should be left to the manufacturers and used as a selling point and not requested by an inspector. UL knows that it could impose fees because it has a powerful sales force all accross the country that does not cost UL a penny, the inspectors. "Have our product or you cannot do business" should be the UL's sales pitch. In the land of choices how could we allow this?
  17. As cheaper imports continue to present a major and growing threat to US industries, there are applications where these imports could end up costing many folds more than their US made counterparts. This is so true for electronic sign controllers. One of our customers, we will call him XYZ signs, has been seduced by the lower cost offered by an importer for DMX512 dimmer modules. He needed 35 of those in a sign with PC controlled animation. The difference in price between our modules and the imported ones was a total of $735.00. XYZ owner who took the cheaper route ended up calling us after wasting a few days on trying to make the sign function correctly. The US importer could not provide any troubleshooting support beyond the instructions that came with the units. The man was devastated! The traitor, after so many years of enjoying our superb technical support, he sold us for a fist full of dollars! I took the call. He acknowledged that these products are not stand alone and do need to be interconnected and wired to lights in different environments. He said that he never felt as alone as when he was trying to figure out what was wrong with the controls. He apologetically proclaimed how much he missed our prompt and adequate assistance. He ended up reordering the 35 dimmer modules from us. I could only forgive him because he knew what he did wrong and, probably, after spending a couple of thousands on trying to make things work, he had learned his lesson. Support US manufacturers, not only because it is a patriotic thing to do, but also because it makes fiscal sense. Keep buying the imports and soon enough you will not find a shoulder to cry on.
  18. A 12 VDC power supply with a maximum of 60 Watts for Class 2 could technically be used with any load that is rated under 60 watts for constant voltage 12 VDC including LEDs. Some LED manufacturers have UL listed their products as systems meaning power supply and lights together. this being the case, neither their power supply could be used with other lights and be UL listed nor their lights could be used with another power supply and be UL listed. This is an unwise way to list and it limits the product's marketability.
