  1. Different how? Your assistant with the cones - did you break her ankle to slow her down and allow you to catch her?
  2. Is your lead crane operator going to run both ---- or are you going to let her choose which she wants to use? Tell her "hi" for me.
  3. Congrats on the truck Brian. Did you retire one of uours or put one on the disabled list?
  4. Decent article in SoT this month - about the lack of neon materials, and some quotes from our leader. If those were actually his words......
  5. My first question would be to find out the "why" of the client using leds? Energy savings? Teach him the facts, and use Voltarc's 50,000 hour triphosphor lamps, with an electronic ballast. If its the "cool" factor - then, oh well. For sure use two rows of lamps - one for each face. Use a high output, such as axiom, along with axiom power supplies. Verify the proper distance from your face, and distance between rows of leds.
  6. Thats is funny. Have them walk out, pop the hood, take a picture showing the plate and immedistely send it to you. One of them cant.
  7. The fun jobs you like? Or the good $ jobs you like?
  8. Moving to tennessee. Thanks though. Not sure what i will do there, but might get a little rig and just do service. Might be qualified for that.
  9. what a pity. Here I sit with my tool bag, my gauges, my phone, my tablet, my laptop, can use them all. But I'm over qualified so I work 65 hours a week in a different career because I can't find a job in my career. Sometimes I guess life is a bitch.
  10. If you want, send me whst you are trying to do. Xp is microsoft, and android is droid. Why i suggested possib using google drive.
  11. Been awhile since I played with this idea. When I was with that other company I told you about, I experimented with a custom pdf for surveys. Easy to do, enough free apps to fill in the pdf out in the field, etc, all sign measurements,, building measurements, etc., and then fire back to the company. doing it that way - real easy for PM or boss to verify that all info and measurements have been taken as needed. Easy to take pics and instantly send back to company also. Easy way to file pics after installation, complete with behind the wall pics, etc to verify a clean, pprofessional install. Also easy to document the wire schematics for posterity. PDF's, fillable pdfs, can be easily made with adobe. Play around with several pdf apps for the tablet to find the one thta works easiest for your forms. I also played around with excel forms - allowing the excel to verify by formulas that the measurements make sense. Using apps, its also possible to take picture in field, and then using app, actually write measurements ON the picture so there is no confusion as to what the measurement represents. Past company wasns't keen on spending $$ for the tablets. I thought it would be money well spent ------------- now that is a weird concept? Another concept using tablets - if you set up with a master gmail account, there is a cool program that will allow you to pull up on the computer where the tablet is on google maps, with no fees, just in the syncing of the gmail program. Quite nice --------- Another thing to consider --- real easy to use google drive, set it up as a form for truck materials. It is LIVE - meaning when the serviceman pulls 20 widgets from stock, and puts it on the tablet - your office person can immmediately see it pulled from inventory, thus easily knowing what needs to be ordered simply by monitoring that form. it is actual REAL TIME when using this way. I had set up all ordering from outside vendors - complete with pricing, date ordered, received, expected arrival date. All the important people could easily see IF it was arrived, where it was at in the shop, and mgrs could easily acccount for all $$ owed to what vendors and why. REAL TIME, again, with no fees just using google drive. Have fun - great idea.
  12. Looks as classy as the rest of the letters. If you ever figure out what it is - please keep us informed. pretty weird to say the least.
  13. Sorry to hear about the rough times as I definitely know how it feels....and still feels. Good luck ---
  14. Great for both of you guys!! Follow up, followup. Never liked having my money in someone else's pocket.
  15. Thats just what i was going to say. Run the company and manufacturing all the signs after designing and estimating them. Gonna be pretty darn busy.
  16. The flashing, dimming, static window led strips are in vogue around town here. Uggh. Have seen a couple that were relatively nicely done but the rest? Uggh.
  17. Are you kidding me? Find exposed leds around windows, on canapies, even around perimerer buildings...but now this?
  18. Porcelain is nice but they are white. So they tend to stand out more than clear glass. Yup, they seem to have gotten thinner over the years. Yes, the p was for the peanut part. The longer ones were referenced as 200 housings so as to not be confused with the peanut housings. And then they came out with the tc50 version.
  19. You are talking about the tc50? And then some salesman decided to steal the "peanut" part. Those havent been out that long....less than 100 years? Joke.
  20. Thats the difference between young pups in the trade and old farts. Youngsters change the definition. Do a google for glass peanut housings and up will pop westrim 200 peanut housings, etc.
  21. 200 housings were typically called peanut housings. If I recall. I am eeeing all housings going up and down into pans? My thougjt, saving alot of service...put the housings on the back panels, including the 2in deep one. Either cheat onbthe design and make it a bit deeper...OR on that back panel use a heckel bushing, masters straight boot, and masters sleeving going thru heckel bushing. Totally UL, safe, and uding boots on the peanuts....very unlikely to short out.
  22. And he's training you how to do what? He will never get any work done! Glad dinner was good and that your date treated you well. Weather here hasn't been bad, but it'll be much better when we get moved!
  23. Wrong again. Back in phoenix, before doctors tried to kill me. This discussion, for me, is over.
