I need all you guys to keep us in your thoughts and prayers. High winds knocked a tree down which knocked a transformer to the ground igniting an uncontrollable fire here where I live. Though the fire poses no threat to my business at this time, many of my friends have lost everything including local sign man Buddy Carter, whose entire business has burned to the ground. At the time of this writing only 25 percent of the fire is contained. Thanks in advance for your prayers. Here is a local link describing the fire rampage. :amerflag:

It's hard to imagine the hardships and grief people are forced to endure during and after tragedies; natural as in yours or man made like Virginia Tech's. You and yours are in my thoughts, Dave.

This may not be the appropriate time to offer a word of caution, but I've found I'm good at that. After reading this part of the article, "....GEMA Director Charley English to begin the process of securing fire management assistance from the Federal Emergency Management Agency.”, I thought, that's the worst thing that could happen. Just look at the history of FEMA in assisting. And look at the history of individuals and private enterprises in assisting, even after being forced to fund FEMA. It's the difference between hammers and nails on one hand, and forms and pencils on the other.

OK, now I'm thinking about you and yours, again. Keep us updated on the situation, please.

That sucks Dave. Reminds me of the big fire we had here a couple of years ago (Cedar Fires). I was on the roof tops of my neighbors hosing them down and trying to keep them moist, luckily it missed my parents and close neighbors but claimed many upon many of friends I grew up with. Please keep us posted

Hey Guys..... thanks for the good wishes. It is bad....I mean really bad. The winds are really making this thing almost impossible. Here is a video for you to view if you wish to see what I am going through....

Smoke Blankets Area As Firefighters Make Progress In Georgia

Again, many of you have sent personal wishes and I appreciate it very much. Personally, I am still out of arms way, but these winds and lack of rain fall make it a very, very tense situation.

Man that sucks! My mom's house almost burnt down back in the 80's from grass fires... our back yard was gone, burnt black as the night sky.... I was home from school and put sprinklers on our roof before the fire go to our house. Lucky for us the fire department came to our house just before the fire got there but the back yard got fried...

Any way best wishes and stay safe.

Very sorry to hear about this. But more help is on the way - or probably already there. Our morning news reported that some of our Columbia Fire Fighters were sent to your area to help. Hopefully it will be under control very soon.

Yes, good luck. What you really need is some of that rain from the Northeast.

Thanks for all of your best wishes. Not much has changed here. The fire continues to destroy thousands of acres and homes. Here are some pictures of the blaze. Keep praying for us....
