Truck Inventory

Recommended Posts

Hi Folks,

As some of you know we just got our first used truck about 2 months ago. Have already done couple thousand in serivce work. I was wondering if anyone had an inventory list that they could share. I am getting tired of not having the correct ballast or lamp on the truck. Just wondering what I should inventory. What are the most common lamps and ballasts.

Thanks folks

I don't have a list, but off the top of my head I think you will need all HO lamps from 2' to 8' at least. Couple electronic ballasts like Ventex Advantage (Shamless Plug :P ), you can do some pretty crazy configurations with those, 1-6 lamps. Box of Tombstones & your snap in's.

CCFL:

Just two different size service tranny's for neon 3k-9k, and 10-15k self-contained, (Reality is you also will need 2 sizes in regular outdoor too), Tecnolux Silicone GTO & Caps. Primary Wire. PK's and extra springs. Hi Voltage Splicers, copper wire, G-Cups, Bushings, disconnect switches, silicone, electrical tape

For LED's, you will find just about every make out there for modules, so at least pack a few Axiom Power sources (Another Shamless Plug :P), $35 for a 60watt, can't beat that and their damn good units with manual adjustable output voltage for whatever mods you might run into.

Test equipment: Lamp tester for CCFL & Fluorescent lamps. HV Probe for checking secondary loads on Tranny's. Multi-Meter. Extension cord & generator.

Don't forget the typical "man" fix it all, Duct Tape!

In passing this is all I can think about off the top of my head

What brand are you using here?

Its also gonna depend on what your bin space and customer base is. Do you have the capacity to carry longer lamps? Also, most companies have a color preference. Such as all Daylights on re lamps. So it would make sense to have more daylights than coolwhites. You'll also lean more towards what you larger customers use over time. So if you have a customer that's stores use a lot of 72" lamps and few customers that use 64" lamps. Well, the 64" lamp become a specialty item that you only carry a couple of and so require a second trip.

I use Lecip & France

That's the other part of carrying fluorescent lamps, CW or D & Bin, in my area I've 95% worked with HO's and 50/50 chance on what temp lamp. You're right, you have to have a large capacity. I don't have a large capacity nor service much these days so a lot of time I'm making second trips when it comes to some lamp changes. Complete LAMP CHANGE! :P
