I believe Blair Signs picked up the West Coast end.

I heard that Coast Signs bombed the pricing and picked up the West Coast. Doesnt make much sense.

  1. RiteAids are closing down like crazy here in Las Vegas
  2. Coast Signs is on a DO NOT SELL TO list by several suppliers and distributors because they dont pay their bills
  3. Coast Signs is only working a 20 hour production work week these days - heard from a friend who works in same business complex that they work in

Also heard that on other sign auctions that sign companies are taking sign prices ridiculously low...sounds like the market will implode even further and a lot of vendors and distributors will be screwed.

We did a small Rite Aid service for Blair after Image Point went TU. I think Blair has the Rite Aids - at least I hope. Coast was horrible to work for.

Blair is much bigger than anyone even knows... they treat people very nicely as well.

Yeah, they paid us in like 15 days. They absolutely understand how IP impacted us, and how we aren't real happy with how Rite Aid is handling things for us....

      Hand painted letters on trick

      Does anyone know of someone who can hand letter on a brick wall in Phila?    The job was supposed to be lit channel letters, but they now wants to go old-school (very old school) on this location.  it's about 15' to the top of the lettering and a scissor lift can be provided.      Thanks folks!   Rocco

      Mounting Signs On EIFS

      It depends on what's under the EIFS.   If it's plywood under the foam, then toggles are fine for a lightweight sign.  If masonry, we've come to like the titen HD (simpson strong tie brand) anchors or long wedge anchors.   The Titen HD screws are more user friendly than tapcons IMO.   They come in a variety of sizes, sometimes even at the big home centers.   Just check to see if it's densglass (fiberglass wall panels) under the foam.  Engineeners have told us that densglass isn't "structural" and that things need to be thru-bolted with uni-strut (or equal) sleepers across studs inside the wall.  A few years back, we were called out for an emergency call where someone had installed some large raceway channel letter signs to an EIFS wall that had densglass behind.  They used lag screws.  These held for a while but a heavy snow caused them to fail.   And toggles should work with Densglass but again not for any heavy loads.    In any case don't compress the foam too much.  A sleeve (mentioned above) would be needed for whatever the depth of the foam might be, though probably not needed for something light like an ACM panel.   if it's a really small sign, then appropriate exterior screws are usually OK going into plywood.
