AxiomLED expands sales staff in California

AxiomLED is pleased to announce that it has expanded its field sales for its LED lighting product lines in the State of California.

AxiomLED also announced that 2011 is the year it will be making public an extensive line of power supplies, controllers, and energy management systems that can be used by light fixture manufacturers in addition to continuing to introduce new LED signage products for replacing neon and fluorescent as well as its upcoming release of a technology to relamp metal halide billboard lighting in a matter of minutes.

SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA

We are pleased to announce that Dan Baker has again joined the LED team of Manuel Lynch and Chris Peng, the two founders of AxiomLED. Dan Baker previously worked for Manuel Lynch at Permlight LED where he was responsible for the rapid growth the company experienced in the early 2000s. Mr. Baker is largely responsible for the rapid adoption by homebuilders of the patented LED recessed lighting system that Manuel Lynch and Chris Peng invented. Dan Baker also has extensive experience in metal finishing technologies including powder coating, advanced plating techniques, and exotic metal fabrication technologies. Dan Baker has extensive working knowledge of LED systems.

NORTHERN CALIFORNIA

We are pleased to announce that Hugh Conwell has joined the AxiomLED team as our Northern California salesperson. Hugh comes to AxiomLED from being a customer of our LED Retrofit kit products where he experienced the ease of use of our technology and where he saw first hand how AxiomLED and Nichia of Japan understand work place lighting. Mr. Conwell previously worked for the Dept. of Defense in the production electronics field for 21 years, then in electronic process instrumentation arena in following industries: Petrochemical, Energy(cogen),Food, Aluminum, Mining, Pharmaceutical, and Water Treatment. He also worked for a Martinez California firm where he did electrical design and drafting. Most recently Hugh was a maintenance supervisor for one of the most notable Napa Valley wineries.

    • It depends on what's under the EIFS.   If it's plywood under the foam, then toggles are fine for a lightweight sign.  If masonry, we've come to like the titen HD (simpson strong tie brand) anchors or long wedge anchors.   The Titen HD screws are more user friendly than tapcons IMO.   They come in a variety of sizes, sometimes even at the big home centers.   Just check to see if it's densglass (fiberglass wall panels) under the foam.  Engineeners have told us that densglass isn't "structural" and that things need to be thru-bolted with uni-strut (or equal) sleepers across studs inside the wall.  A few years back, we were called out for an emergency call where someone had installed some large raceway channel letter signs to an EIFS wall that had densglass behind.  They used lag screws.  These held for a while but a heavy snow caused them to fail.   And toggles should work with Densglass but again not for any heavy loads.    In any case don't compress the foam too much.  A sleeve (mentioned above) would be needed for whatever the depth of the foam might be, though probably not needed for something light like an ACM panel.   if it's a really small sign, then appropriate exterior screws are usually OK going into plywood.

    • Hi   Can anyone tell me the right color red and blue translucent vinyl for the "new" Pepsi logo?  We have a local ice cream spot that recently changed from Coke to Pepsi and we have to replace the graphics on a couple of lit cabinets.   The customer sent me the logo in various formats but it didn't specify the correct colors.   I've searched but keep getting CYMK, etc. for the older logo - 2022 or so.   Thanks!
