Wow.... just heard that McDonalds is spending a BILLION with a b on remodels and retrofits this year for over 600 locations....

That's alot of dollars.

It's more of that 'cafe' themed look and we've seen many of them done around here. Rather than rip the exteriors apart and rebuild, the new exteriors are simply being built right over top the existing McD trademark roofs, etc...

THe ones around here have been doing a ground up rebuilds that I 've seen. THey have been really old buildings though. White castle is doing rebuilds here as well.

Damn I miss White Castles. Haven't had a sack of WC sliders since I left Columbus in '95.

They have Krystal burgers down here but they're just not the same.

BTW... McD's ...the budget is to remodell and update locations because they can't find any new real estate which meets their strict criteria. SO to alighn their existing locations to the models mentioned above is precisely why such a large ammount of money has been budgeted.
