New/old Phrase

Recommended Posts

I'm usually a very private person, except when it comes to business. I lay my cards on the table and open my soul if I have to. That said, I relearned an old phrase today. "Yes sir, Mr. Boss man."

Today was the first day in over 18 years that I "punched a clock". I'm now working for an electrical contractor who was convinced that he needed a sign division. I didn't get everything I wanted, but I got the 2 main things I was looking for. The albatross has been removed from my neck. And I've been given quite a bit of independence as far as operations go. I graciously gave my new company all the headaches.

It may be hard for some on this board to understand, but this :bawling: is not how I feel right now.

This         is!

I found something else out. There's a limit as to the number of emoticons this board will allow in a post.

Well Joemomma I happened to pay attention at one point this year and remember you saying that due to particular circumstances your hand is somewhat being forced to make this move. Perhaps a welcome push. Whichever may the transition treat you well and help you and your family to keep well with health and mind.

Now that you work for an electrical contractor I can tell you this, leave the sign work to the pros you wanna be! :moon::P

Thank you Lady and Gentlemen for your support. It is deeply appreciated. I've always wanted nothing more than to do the work I love, which is signage in general, neon in particular. But I've always wanted to do it the right way, or better put - my way. :P My new employer and I made a deal on a handshake. The only thing I have to do to make this deal stick is what I love doing. Piece of cake. Though I am a little concerned that the 'sparky' work ethic will rub off on me. Travis, you just need to keep reminding me for a while that I'm a sign guy (not a wanna be), and that I do more work than talk.

First and last (I promise) electrical joke heard at the shop. How many L.A. cops does it take to change a light bulb? Five. One to screw it in and four to beat the shit out of the old one.
