Paul Signs Inc. removal of the iconic Wonder Wheel sign in Coney Island in May of 2014. The sign needed some repairs after superstorm hurricane Sandy damaged most of New York and it's beach communities. There was salt water damage and wear and tear of time showing on the famous sign. It has been 14 years since we last refurbished the sign.

Paul Signs Inc. had the honor of removing the signs from the famous Cheyenne Diner in Hell's Kitchen, NYC. The historic, 24-hour diner closed it's doors in 2008. Our removal of the signs was not long after. The diner itself has since been moved to Alabama by it's new owners.

  14. Absolutley not true. This site has brought many sign companies together to learn from everyone here. LEARN is the key word here. We learn how to do service and installs. We learn about different products and do they work. We learn about everything that relates to this business. We learn about who is doing what for who. We learn about the " Good, the Bad and the Ugly " in the sign industry. Everyone on this site has worked for every sign company out there. Some have great experiences and some have not. When everyone has issues with the same companies, then there must be a problem. We all agree on this...........Everyone is happy when we are paid in full and on time, you and your company also.
  15. Everytime I look ......I see green, money
  16. Keep the doors open so they dont knock you over as they run away from everyone. Yes it sounds real good if someone will take them on and demand answers.
  17. Tim Hortons is attached to the "Structural" beams of the building. Completely different install and building construction. This should also be engineered, because shit rolls down hill to the last person who worked on the site. Hudsons Sign is being attached to a building built in the 1880s to early teens. It has been renovated many times. The framed storefront was installed into the opening without any consideration for any weight on it. The frame is most likey wedged with wood to make it fit. It is basically a big replacement window attached quickly and as easy as possble to what ever will hold it.
  18. We do these all the time here in NYC The columns are cast iron, You can drill and tap the columns and attach brackets and or bolts into them. 1/2 inch x 1 1/4 inch deep is enough. The cross beam is steel that sits on the columns. Look at the 5 bolts in the middle. they are attaached to the wood floor beams. You can drill thru the beam also for attachments. Attaching to the window frames is a legal issue. They are not engineered for any attachments. You need to get an engineer to do the calculations and stamp it. The storefront company, ( Like sign companies) want to install the job quick and easy. Not designing it to hold anything but the glass. Since you can not see the frame attachments into the building, you most assume that it is not strong enought to hold your install. Awnings and canopies move in the wind and get heavy with snow. Causing vibrations to the storefront. Guess who is responsible ? Remember....Anything that happens to the storefront, falls, leaks, glass breakage, anything. You are responsible and everyone else walks away.
