  1. we just went with MET and frankly they did a good job of holding our hand through the process.
  2. ha, I love it. the banality of stupid people who have risen to thier level of incompetency poor judgement and undeserved power. once while servicing channel letters on a wall I had a cop walk up who was going into eat at the restaurant tell me I cant park in a handicap space (all the spaces in front of the sign and that elevation were handicap) I asked him how he expected the sign to get fixed and I told him to use some common sense. he walked away. I once had an osha guy eating his lunch in his 15th floor office looking down on me putting a banner up on the wall of a parking garage come all the way down, walk outside and down the sidewalk to holler up at me that he could see me in the bucket without a harness from his office window. for what ever reason he just gave me a warning and told us me to put one on.
  3. local supplier in denver has a daily run down here to colorado springs an hour and a half drive or so, and they then drive on another hour south to pueblo colorado to make deliveries, but while they are here in colorado springs delivering they refuse to drive ten minutes outside city limits to bring me my orders no matter how much I spend, so if I buy a 900 dollar piece of lexan and a few hundred bucks in balasts I have to drive in and meet the driver somewhere to get my stuff. I started using grimco a competitor who will deliver so thier loss.
  4. I left new york years ago and never looked back. most of my friends living in new york and family, they have mostly gotten rid of employees, to much of a beak breaker. one good friend had a window and roofing co. and he finally got fed up. he closed his doors got rid of the help and just went out doing roofing only and doing it by himself and he tells me he makes twice what he did with employees.
  5. they stung a buddy of mine too. he did 12,000 worth of work for them (dairy queens) here in colorado. I have lost jobs from national sign co.'s because I have been firm with terms of 50% deposit since I started out. but I now have 3 friends who either own or work for other sign companies that are out anywhere from 12,000 to 80,000 from these failed or failing nationals. no pay no play. the days of p.o.'s without depost checks and variations on that theme need to go in the dustbin. no one should be able to expect tens of thousands of dollars worht of work without at least 50% down.
