  1. Did a nice 80 mile drive in an ice storm Monday morning. It's only cold when your outside. LOL
  2. Sounds interesting, I hope they loose the CL line and bring back the older version. I hope Creston and the Brown Brothers did good on the deal. I think this is a good merger. consolidation and covering the market on power supplies variation and also consolidate manufacturing/shipping overseas. Now will it stay distributor friendly or direct to majors and distributor to minors?
  3. My question is, with the aluminum bed how much better will the mileage be and how do you eliminate the slip factor when it gets wet or "snow and icey" WSood is a lot better for traction and you can screw things into it along with replacing the boards when needed.
  4. Keep them in the cab like Paul said and bring them in at night. I have the same problem with camera batteries as well. Do you have an outlet in your basket?

  6. Merry Christmas to all and have safe travels over the holidays.
  7. Happy Birthday, been a fun ride, meet lotsa great peeps and learned a lot, hopefully contributed as well. I think one of the first posts I saw on here was Erik inquiring about black white plex. Met him at San Diego show while he was walking around with his boyz. I remember he was one of the only passer-bys that was asking real questions and if I'm correct this is where the idea for the great white hope came about from the side by side demo I made for our booth. Thanks Erik and K for keeping at it.
  8. Thanks Gary, Just wish mother nature would make up her mind. Snow or rain, warm or cold.
  9. Utility body and yes, getting it black from the factory, no use in the stock white when its going to be black. Having the battery box location in the bed changed, inside the frame storage from the back for stock material, all the creature comforts inside, multiple outlet locations on the exterior and a ton of other tweeks to it.
  10. Happy belated dear, Did E give you the hug I told him to give ya. Hope you had a good one.
  11. Hey Brian, Gary made the lights for Noah. He needed something to last at least 40 days and 40 nights. LOL. We just put in the order for a new Altec with a 2 man basket with jib. We used a demo truck for a week and loved it. It was the one at the AC show. We are getting it on a dodge cause the options and durability was better. only down side is that it is 8 month wait for it. Customizing sucks cause it takes time because its not off the shelf but well worth the wait. As far as ladder trucks, they should be left for the fire dept.
  12. congrats on the 30 years and to another 30 more.
  13. Went there a few times when I was with EGL. The owners were very open minded but Rick was the deciding factor and set in his ways If it wasnt his idea then it was no good. Did make a real good friend out of there. I believe their demise was planned. Family bushiness end up that way. They were into the liquidation generation. They had the market cornered with service when the Whiteway electrodes were on the project and worked but they screwed that up and had massive failures and lost a majority of accounts.
  14. They are based out of Pennsylvania. Can't turn a corner without seeing one here in south Jersey. Yes they are expanding into Florida. Putting a few locations in Ft Myers. Contact corporate. I do know a local company here that does service for them and they mandated that they carry apx 30K worth of Daktronic spare parts for the reader boards.
  15. Is this the truck that was able to work 2 locations at once, LOL, Altec is building us a truck rite now. F550 with a 2 man basket. It is sweet, cant wait.
  16. Been super busy lately, actually swamped for the next 5 weeks booked. That distributor wouldn't happen to be the one who likes to have product drop shipped in so they can tack on to the shipping for even more profit?. IMHO Erik's syndicate is the most valuable asset on the web for the industry. The people who do not want this around are afraid. I do not understand why. the people who contribute are only trying to improve the work of others, the lurkers are the ones that are to proud to admit they need help or stuck in the mindset that they do not want to help anyone out cause they know it all ( i have met both types and dealt with them). I have been a part of this site since the beginning and it is not going anywhere. My suggestion is that the main sign organization step up to the plate and offer Erik a chance and see what he can do and bring it back to the way it was when the core of its purpose was to teach and have legitimate professionals offer advice and present seminars on an unbiased or even a item specific biased topics, or even a network of professionals that is not based on how much money is contributed. If a step like that is not something they would do maybe use one of it's offspring CSA to do it. if it works then go further if it doesnt no harm done they go back to the way they are now. just my .02
  17. You may be onto something. ask them if you buy the truck can you do two jobs at once in different locations
  18. paint will stick to the porcelain better than the glass. You can mount them in any orientation, they have drain holes. If you mount them horizontal make sure the drain holes are facing the rite direction.
  19. Man, I missed a great debate that I would've loved gettin into. Matt, Mad hatters is not from the vapor released, in the shop it is from the liquid mercury used on hats and absorbed directly into the skin. Mercury can be processed by the body in liquid form, its the direct vapor that will do damage. When a tube breaks the majority of mercury is not in the vapor, it is amalgamated into the phosphor. you are correct about it being released in the air by coal from china, travels 1.5 times around the earth and lands here. Acid rain that killed a majority of the lakes in upstate NY is from mass amounts of hg in the air from Detroit, chi town and Cleveland industry and the high concentration of vapor in the air causing it to drop faster As far as fires, the neon does not start fires, its the installers and short cuts taken installing it. The tube temperature of a neon tube is around 100 degrees. It can not start a fire on an awning considering the material has to be fire rated and in Texas the temp gets a little warmer than that. If that was the case the metal holding the awning together would ignite. I could go on but not worth it. Ya know I know someone like you that likes to stir up the pot with trying to read between the lines. I would learn a little more about the industry before spewing garbage out. I can promise you one thing, it will take longer than a few times in the fire and free lunches to be a glass bender, Maybe ur friend is just appeasing you to shut you up. any one can be an "LED" guy, it takes an artisan to be a real glass bender and a real sign guy.
  20. it wouldnt happen to be a white dodge ram bucket truck would it .......with black lettering Maybe?????
