Shoutbox is back up :yahoo:

It's so much faster than the old and faster than live chat, so I see no need for Live Chat now. Also Click on "Syndicate Shoutbox" for the full function of it.

Ray just pointed out that smilies will not work on the front portal page, only within the shoutbox itself or on the main forum board

Browsers it works for known are IE, Firefox & Opera. Not sure on others.

Also make sure your latest java is installed

Question on the shout box: seems to update about every 5 seconds (a little symbol flashes in the upper right corner of the shoutbox when it updates); when it does, it immediately scrolls to the end of the 'shouts'. This is a bit annoying if one is reading earlier stuff, only to have it snap to the end again (and again.) I'm running Firefox 2.0 on a PC. Any settings, etc. to inhibit this that I need to know about?

Other than that, new board seems to work good...

This one works in reverse to the old one. It scrolls new shouts from bottom to top. What you see on the board view is the quick look with the actual shoutbox viewable when you click on the upper left corner of the block or on the upper right corner of the board labled "Shoutbox" But yes the refresh is quite fast as it is made to be in boards with high volume. The refresh I might tone down to 10 or 15 secs.

I changed the refresh to 15 secs, one suggestion if you looking to read old stuff hold the mouse clicked on the scroll bar
