Energy Efficient Recessed Lighting Line that Cost Less than Incandescent Expanded

Las Vegas, NV - February 24, 2008 - Axiom Power Corporation has expanded its line of surface mounted recessed lighting fixtures to include additional color temperature offerings and different adapters to fit commercial construction applications.

The AXRRL Cold Cathode Fluorescent Series is being rapidly adopted by national home builders over conventional incandescent or the more costly hot cathode compact fluorescent as it allows homebuilders to eliminate recessed cans and reduce construction cost of up to $2,000 per home over incandescent lighting.

"We are quite pleased with rapid adoption we have had of this product technology that is less than 6 months old and was introduced in a rather down market," commented Manuel Lynch, Founder of Axiom Power. "We find that home builders want to offer energy efficient lighting but cannot afford the higher prices. Our technology actually saves in construction cost and allows builders not only to provide buyers with energy efficient lighting but with a technology that is dimmable, has the same lifetime as an LED system, and is much lower cost."

The AXRRL line has been expanded to include a commercial version of the product that ships standard with a metal adapter plate to allow it to be mounted to a conventional 4" Square (4S) metal junction box. This product allows commercial architects and construction companies to reduce the cost of installing recessed lighting and its related structural support systems.

Axiom has additionally expanded its energy efficient CCFL line to include a non-dimmable 4100K Cool White color temperature version for restaurants, retail stores, and the hospitality industry.

The 18 Watt Cold Cathode Fluorescent Lighting or CCFL system is the same lighting technology used in long lifetime flat panel screens as well as in high resolution medical imaging equipment and it high temperature outdoor sign lighting. The technology has 90% light extraction efficiency versus only 35% for most Compact Fluorescent Lighting systems. The AXRRL has the same or higher output than conventional 100 Watt incandescent recessed can or a 26Watt compact fluorescent system.

"We find it ironic in these shaky financial times that the US Government awarded LED Lighting Fixtures (LLF), now CREE, the award for the optimal energy efficient lighting system," stated Lynch. "I don't see a lot of people rushing to the store to buy a $75 LED light fixture when they can buy the AXIOM product for 1/3rd the price at $25 - they both have the same lifetime. Furthermore, our product has a significantly lower carbon footprint than any LED system."

Axiom also announced that it will be introducing a high color rendering (CRI) of 92 version of the product in summer of 2008. The company will also be adding an LED version of its surface mounted technology product for $35 in 2008.

    • It depends on what's under the EIFS.   If it's plywood under the foam, then toggles are fine for a lightweight sign.  If masonry, we've come to like the titen HD (simpson strong tie brand) anchors or long wedge anchors.   The Titen HD screws are more user friendly than tapcons IMO.   They come in a variety of sizes, sometimes even at the big home centers.   Just check to see if it's densglass (fiberglass wall panels) under the foam.  Engineeners have told us that densglass isn't "structural" and that things need to be thru-bolted with uni-strut (or equal) sleepers across studs inside the wall.  A few years back, we were called out for an emergency call where someone had installed some large raceway channel letter signs to an EIFS wall that had densglass behind.  They used lag screws.  These held for a while but a heavy snow caused them to fail.   And toggles should work with Densglass but again not for any heavy loads.    In any case don't compress the foam too much.  A sleeve (mentioned above) would be needed for whatever the depth of the foam might be, though probably not needed for something light like an ACM panel.   if it's a really small sign, then appropriate exterior screws are usually OK going into plywood.

    • Hi   Can anyone tell me the right color red and blue translucent vinyl for the "new" Pepsi logo?  We have a local ice cream spot that recently changed from Coke to Pepsi and we have to replace the graphics on a couple of lit cabinets.   The customer sent me the logo in various formats but it didn't specify the correct colors.   I've searched but keep getting CYMK, etc. for the older logo - 2022 or so.   Thanks!
