Who went to the sign show and what did you think ?

I had not been to the sign show in a while. Or vendors and sales reps keep us up to date of the latest and greatest electric stuff. I wanted to look at all the current offering on letter benders. Look at some software too. Overall I was disappointed with the show. It seems as the show is mostly geared to the vinyl shops. They most have had a hundred printers. The other big thing was knock off EMC and LED stuff. I had planned on 2 days but we went down every row and stopped at every both that we were interested in. We came home a day early. Maybe cause it had been a while ago but the last Vegas show I went to was much bigger and had better attendance. Overall I give it 2.5 out of 5 stars.

I would have been interested in the seminars. Anyone go to these? Worth it? I was told there is not a whole lot that they teach.

I was at the show Thurs, through Sat. and from what I saw in the parking lot there were quite a few people attending this year. Unfortunatly I think most were looking more in the digital graphics area. The LED booths were active but not near what the printer or router folks were doing. Those booths concerned mostly with electrical signage didn't have much traffic compared to the number of people there.

I managed to miss a few places I wanted to visit but then again I was working the first two days so only really had Sat. to wander around. I really don't know if I ran into anyone from here other than Sean over at EGL or not. I wasn't identified as Camelot Sign for a couple of days. One of these days it won't matter though.

Had a good time seeing familiar faces anyway.

Thursday and Friday were good on traffic but Saturday was a dive. The most interesting conversation I had was with a gentelman who Loves LED because he didnt have to hire anyone with any skill or talents. He did say that with a smile. Got a chance to talk with Marko for a few minuites, Wanted to go out but had some customers to attend to for drinks. Spent some time at the Neon Group booth, Heard many stories of how customers are now seeing major failures and the realization of the false statistics they have been fed on power consumption and overall cost savings. Had a good time but it is nothing like Vegas for the after hour fun. Met Fire dawg (I didnt delete you) He did comment on my bending which is nice to hear from another bender. Probably spoke with a few more from the site but having ADD and a few other letters it is hard to remember what I am doing tomorrow. Showed 3 new colors we have. CL Blue, Green and Turquoise. full triphosphors and look real nice. Got a few pics of the booth. Depending on how they came out I will post them. There was a ton of digital there and the large sign shops only brought a few people unlike the posse that used to follow the owners.

All in all it was very nice to put faces with names.

GOOD things happen for a reason......
