Well the first picture came thru. So, that leaves the 1.5" between the stud and the box?

And seeing that its mounted, not quite centered - does that mean the old theory of mounting with one side to the transformer box for heat dissipation is no longer being followed ---- or allowed?

To be honest, I took a TBOX and placed the UNT15 inside to show it fits fine. Regarding your question, let me check with the "expert" on that--will follow up tomorrow.

Thanks.

Gary,

Good morning—went over your question with Henry and he here is his response:

  • Please see the attached picture of the UNT1512N3G correctly placed in the Transformer Box. Per the instructions in our Transformer Box, the spacing requirements are the following:
  • For a 15KV, minimum spacing between high volt parts & ground: 1.5”
  • For a 15KV, minimum spacing between live primary parts & ground: .75”
  • In this picture, there are 2” for Part A (.5” more than minimum required) and for Part B there is 1” (.25” more than the minimum required)

Regarding your question about the theory of mounting the Transformer to one side to the Transformer Box for additional heat dissipation, the UNT Tank is designed & manufactured by default to be the Coolest Running Neon Transformer on the Market—so you are perfectly fine mounting the UNT Tank in the center. When you use 100% Copper, Higher Grade Steel Laminations, A Larger Core, Epoxy Resin Fill, & Extensive Additional Manufacturing Processes To Ensure Maximum Core Strength, it all culminates into the least stress on the “heart” of the Transformer, ensuring maximum strength and life.

If you have any additional questions, Henry said to give him a call and he would be happy to talk about the UNT Tank and how our testing compared to other like models is going.

Thanks, and GO IRISH! Beat Stanford!

Thanks creston. no questions..just wanted to know if placement requirements had changed that I did not of. Tell Henry, "hi". Now if more companies would start using that "bad" neon again...can everyone see the issues if neon would once again rule? Gto is tough to find, housings are non existent, qualified installers are tough to find, boss men are too cheap to pay the wages for a good neon person, etc. The world of signs is changing and spireling downhill.
