Sr. Production Manager

After 60 years, Academy, Inc. is opening a new division—a large format, environmental graphics and display operation in the San Francisco Bay Area. Academy, Inc. has been producing awnings and fabric structures for architects, contractors and retail clients for many decades and is seeking an exceptional Sr. Production Manager to setup and manage the Northern California graphics production operation. Above average pay and benefits will be compensated to the right individual.

Sr. Production Manager Job Duties:

Objective: To make sure the production operations are setup efficiently and operate smoothly.

· Understand and implement all production systems to enable proper training of production personnel. This includes the ability to operate the printers, CNC cutter and general tools and equipment.

· Hire and manage production personnel.

· Manage job workflow from P.O. to RIP to print/fabricate/finish to installation/delivery.

· Develop and implement protocols and training programs

· Regular purchasing and make equipment recommendations.

· Assist with production when required (less and less over time)

· Work closely with the owners to create a productive, enjoyable and positive work environment for everyone.

Recommended skills and attributes:

· A great attitude!

· Must be very independent but able to work side-by-side the owners and the production personnel when necessary.

· The ability to mentor the production and installation staff is helpful.

· Minimum 5 years as a production manager, project manager or similar responsible role.

· Minimum of 3 years in production, fabrication, construction or hand-on experience.

· Minimum of 3 years’ experience in the large format printing industry.

· A minimum of three great professional references.

· CAD and Adobe Illustrator skills desired but not required.

· If you meet most or all of the above and can juggle four chainsaws while calmly addressing client requests, please apply (the latter is optional).

Above average compensation for the right individual after completion of a successful drug and background screening. Candidate must be seeking a career and not a short term job. Great potential for growth and bonuses—really, we’re not just saying this!

    • Hey everyone, I wanted to share some insights I recently explored about how digital signage is transforming communication within hospitals and healthcare environments. Whether it's patient experience, internal messaging, or emergency alerts — digital displays are making a huge impact. Here are 6 key benefits I discovered: ✅ 1. Reduced Perceived Wait Times Waiting in hospitals can be stressful. Digital signage helps by displaying health tips, entertainment, or wait time updates to ease patient anxiety and improve their experience. ✅ 2. Real-Time Emergency Alerts In urgent situations, hospitals can use digital screens to instantly broadcast important alerts or emergency codes across departments — faster and more effectively than overhead systems. ✅ 3. Improved Staff Communication From shift updates to meeting reminders, internal digital boards streamline communication and reduce confusion among staff, especially in larger facilities. ✅ 4. Wayfinding Made Easy Navigating hospitals can be confusing. Interactive digital maps and directional signs help visitors and patients get to their destination without constantly asking for help. ✅ 5. Promoting Health Campaigns Hospitals can use signage to promote wellness programs, flu shot campaigns, or COVID updates — all in a visually engaging way that captures attention. ✅ 6. Better Patient Engagement Screens in waiting areas or patient rooms can be used for educational videos, treatment FAQs, or even personalized messages — creating a more informed and connected patient experience. I wrote a full article diving deeper into each of these, if anyone wants to read more: https://www.wipath.com/top-6-advantages-of-using-digital-signs-in-hospitals/ Would love to hear your thoughts — are you seeing digital signage being used effectively in your hospitals or clinics? Cheers!
