Naw.... that's just your conspiracy gene kicking in. If we knew when Bush was in office we would have killed the sob then. I must say I'm impressed that the current administration didn't have any leaks on the intel which was supposedly has been a 6 week secret. That's freaking awesome. The Bush administration and the intel agencies had a ton of leaks.

Added... Remember all of the acronyms were not playing well together back then. When we went into Iraq, intelligence was crap, and any local that would talk for money got attention. Same thing when we "expanded" the operation to Afganistan. It's not like their all a big happy family now... BUT they've had a lot of practice which finally paid off.

You can count on "spin" coming from both sides of the aisle and every "group" ... however none of that will change how glad I am to hear the news that rat basterd is dead. Thank you special forces! Thank you intellgence aganecies! Thanks even to Pakistan!

To start, I come from a military family. Someone in my family has fought and in some case died at Normandy, Iwo Jima, Pearl Harbor, Korea, Vietnam, Iraq (I and II) and currently in Afghanistan. They served proudly in the Army, Navy and most importantly the USMC. So I am heartened by the news of Bin Laden's extermination from the planet.

However, before we go crazy with the accolades, let us not forget that terrorism and the groups that promote it around the world are still active and very dangerous. Just like the War on Drugs, Hunger, Homelessness and many others we wage on an ongoing basis, the trek is not over. Just one player on a large stage has been eradicated and many actors line up to take his place. A big part of Bin Laden's plan was to damage our country economically as well as physically. He succeeded on both accounts and we find ourselves in the worst economy that we have experienced since 1929.

We feel good today with his demise which serves as a symbolic victory for our country and affords us the retribution we so desperately wanted. But we shouldn't forget we have a long way to go in making our country whole once again. And as sure as the sun will rise up in the morning our work just keeps going forward. Hopefully we can rally this moment as Americans, not as Republican, Democrat, Liberal, Conservative, Independent, Black, White, Brown, Yellow, Male, Female, Gay, Straight or whatever and put aside our differences in making the greatest country whole for ALL Americans once again.

Nope. This is junk. The current administration is not planning on releasing any photos for fear of insighting a riot. They say he was shot above his eye and that was likely from a .226 or bigger meaning a decent chunk should be missing from his head.

Osama Bin Laden has for ever changed the face of terror. His death is not enough punishment to the misery and pain that he had spread on our land and across the globe. While he is gone now the ideology that inspired his actions is till alive and kicking. Millions in the Muslim world still believe that Osama was going by the Book and doing the right thing!

Although, a lot of reform is being done in the Muslim countries it remains a formidable task to extract all the teachings and distorted interpretations that formed the sick ideological background for this modern days terrorism. It is a job that only good Muslims could and should do. Otherwise stability and peace in this world will become impossible to attain and the scale and magnitude of terrorist attacks will continue to increase.
