  1. The other day I got an Email from a "National Maintenance Company" Another new name on the scene looking for subs. I asked how they are paying for the work. They replied that they pay by check after 30 days of completion Sorry, I want full payment when I'm done by Credit Card. You are a 1st timer with me. Their answer was that ....Our company rules are that we pay 30 days after the job is completed. I Looked at Google Maps and found............ Their " Company" is a Private House on a nice tree lined street. They are working from their bedroom on a lap top, probably in their pajamas and drinking Starbucks. Everyone wants to be in the game, but can't play or pay
  2. YESCO is a great company to work for. The people are great and their money flows without hesitation. Like any business, The success of it is what you put into it. Franchise or Self employeed
  3. MANITEX IS THE BEST Far superior to anything else out there. When you get down to the nuts and bolts...and the construction , you will see there is a big difference The workmanship. The quality, the way everything is done. Manitex is crane, scaled down for the sign industry. If you look at the new Elliots, they are copying Manitex design and construction now. That says it all. I have been running my Manitex 5 days a week plus...8 hrs a day. Since 2004 WITHOUT one single problem. The only issue I had was a blown fuse, simple repair Contact Stamm Industries 1 800 226-5056 Ask for John or a salesman www STAMM-MFG.com
  4. They buy lots ( grouped lots ) of used utility company trucks. They clean them up, quick paint jobs if needed and sell them. You need to know what you are looking for. Understand that these are not sign trucks. They are heavy utility mass produced trucks. You also need to clearly understand their selling contract and read between the lines. Who is going to repair them, and who is paying for the repairs ???? In the end,,you get what you paid for. Not my choice for buying sign trucks.
  5. Very Nice That is a great idea... I like the swivel wheel caster you used for the tool box. All you need now is a chair to sit on while you work.
  6. Work and sweat ? Are you on drugs ? I get lots of "men looking for jobs " but no one wants to work. Recently one guy came in and the 1st question he asked was what days do I get off. I said Saturday and Sunday.. ENTITLEMENT is the new word for work
  7. I watched the show last night hoping it would be better then the last one. It was. I think many sign companies are in the same situation. They get comfortable with their existing work and put all their eggs in one basket. They cater to one customer or one industry and get tunnel vision. No matter how much work or the size of your sign company, we have to be as aggressive as the day we opened. Take nothing for granted.
  8. Very nice. I like the spring loaded clamps. The talented skills that hide behind the just a "sign guy" title is amazing
  9. Excellent Neon Video A real true craftsman and he's having fun doing it. Poor Erik.... at your age you should be no problem getting things up and working longer
  10. Very Nice. Quality work . I want to see the rest of the truck modifications youre working on
  11. There is no hour meter on the truck. But based on an average of doubling the milage....66,000 on the motor. Way way under 100K Still brand new. Most of my work is Brooklyn, 70 sq miles with just under 3 million people. Manhattan, NYC is less then 23 sq miles and 1.5 million people. Thats alot of signs in less then 93 sq miles. Times Square is only 4 miles away from me. My other trucks are over 100K road miles. My one service truck has 155 K Road Miles on it. Thats alot of road miles for a City Truck...6 new front ends already
  12. The ball should not move when you snug up the loadline and hook to the hook attachment. I never had the ball slide on any truck... Send photos
  13. Thanks for thinking of me. At least there is another "truck nut" out there. I like the tool boxes he has, I will start building that on my trucks right away. Unfortunatley its a Frieghtliner with lots of miles on it. My 2001 only has 33,000 original miles...most of our work is within 10 miles.
  14. Congratulations on your " New " truck. You will find that this type of unit will make your life so much easier. And we all think the same, how did we ever do what we did with the old equipment. That is some rack you built. Thats a first time for me to see something like that. Did you build it to do sign work like in the photo, or was it just luck that day ? Remember to always wear you PPE ( Personal Protection Equipment ) Full Body Harness while in the Basket.
  15. They have a better chance getting rid of gambling in Las Vegas. Another wild fantasy from our government

  19. Very Nice .....for a lime green truck . Wheres the chrome ? Your color choice will make you stand out from the others. Keeping all the trucks the same colors and design will build a professional image and make people remember you. Great start to the fleet
